Alfred Miron of West Boylston violated a no-trespassing order after he showed up where he used to work just before 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25, and peed on the doors, Worcester police said.
When police arrived, Miron was back in his car, and he refused to speak with them. They tried to talk him out, but instead, Miron popped it in reverse and slammed into a cruiser parked behind him, the police report said. He briefly dragged one officer who reached in through his window before speeding out of the parking lot. Police had to dive out of the way to avoid being hit.
Miron led officers on a chase, where he drove on the wrong side of the road and blew through red lights along Grafton Street and onto I-290 East to the Plantation Street exit, officials said. It ended when Miron crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Plantation and Lincoln Street. The other driver was injured in the crash, police said.
Three officers were hurt during the chase, with two needing to visit an area hospital for treatment, Worcester police said. Doctors have since released them.
Authorities charged Miron with assault and battery on a police officer, three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, willful and malicious destruction of property, disorderly conduct, leaving the scene of property damage and operating recklessly so as to endanger, and failure to stop for police, the report said.
